Travel to York

York is easily accessible by rail with excellent links to Manchester and London Heathrow International Airports. Advance booking of rail tickets is strongly recommended as prices are substantiallly lower than paying a full fare on the day.

From Manchester (easiest option)

Travel via the transpennine express, with direct trains from Manchester Airport to York approximately every 30 minutes. Travel time is approximately 1h30 and off-peak return cost of £38.

From London Heathrow (good for international connections not going to Manchester)

Travel via the Heathrow Express to Paddington station. Take the Circle line to Kings Cross St. Pancras. From Kings Cross take a direct train to York via LNER every 30 minutes. Total travel time approximately 3h00 and cost £150.

From Leeds Bradford Airport

Not very accessible, but closest International airport. Approximately 50 minutes by car to York. Bus connects to Leeds city centre and then to York, approximately 1 hour travel time.
